Electa Chapter, No. 7

Electa Chapter No. 6 O.E.S., Prince Hall Affiliation, State of Connecticut was instituted on August 10, 1910 in the city of New London, CT. The Chapter was started by Royal Grand Patron, Brother John D. Young of Providence, Rhode Island and Royal Grand Matron Sister Laura Martin of Worcester, Mass. Royal Grand Sister L. Foy of Boston, Massachusetts assisted with the opening of Electa Chapter No. 6.

The first Matron and Patron elected were Sister Mary Talbot and Brother James A. Lewis. Later, the Chapter was changed to Electa Chapter No. 7. Twenty-five members worked faithfully and diligently to build a strong organization. Electa was blessed to have had a great communication with many Grand Officers and Officers of various Chapters who provided valuable resource and assistance to Electa.

There were many pillars in our Chapter who served on the Grand Chapter level. Past Grand Worthy Matron Sister Lena Thompson was the first member of Electa Chapter to be elected as Grand Treasurer of the Grand Court.

Past Patron Brother Robert E. Williamson, 33° was elected Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall, State of Connecticut in 1995.
